This is one of those moments that we can see anyday but it's not often we stop and take a second look. This is what I did the day I was sitting with friends in the cafe and in walked grandad and grandson for a shared biscuit and drink.
They sat there chatting and we commented how nice it was. It was only a matter of time before I decided to put the moment to canvas and make it permanent.
One of the things I enjoyed most when painting this was the paintly quality of the cafe - the vases and lights on the shelves and the creamy colour of the walls and furniture.
