Lighting the Candle
To light a candle for someone special is a spiritual moment. In church the father helps his son to steady the flame. I like the fact it's a father and son moment and the light from the candle reflects off the child's face and the church furniture while the light from the unseen window illuminates the dad.
I loved painting this and it holds a special place to me.
