Plymouth Uni goes nuts!

Friday, January 30th, 2009

A great night at Plymouth Uni with 1000 wild students going Biff Baff Boff bonkers! You can see all the photos here  and hear the comments too…

Down on the front row there was a commotion with someone desperate to get my attention. Right through the middle of Biff Baff Boff, he wanted to tell me something really important…… but then suddenly he was distracted by somebody much more interesting!

What could it be? When he finally came up for air he announced……

“Hey Timmy I was with you in Weston for the Christmas Day dip!”

Must be something in that freezing cold water…….!

Great to see everyone at Plymouth Uni! Stay nutty!

Panto brings the stars!

Sunday, January 18th, 2009
Rolf Harris came to see Weston’s Peter Pan panto at the Playhouse on Sunday.

Rolf of course knows Timmy and has also worked with David Griffin (Captain Hook) before.

Rolf said “It’s a great show and good to see two of my good friends in such a fun show.”

Timmy and Rolf of course are near neighbours and often share painting tips with each other.

Timmy said “It’s been a lovely season in Weston. Thanks to everyone who came to see the show and to all the good people of Weston and Somerset who made us so very welcome here. It’s been a very warm welcome in a very cold winter!”

Record Breaker!

Saturday, January 10th, 2009

Panto is heading for a record breaking season as Peter Pan draws to a close at the Playhouse Weston Super Mare.

Huge houses of excited happy panto go-ers are raving about the show and coming out singing Biff Baff Boff at the top of their voices!

Sunday saw Timmy Towers star and now BBC Bristol’s newsreader, Alex Lovell coming to see the show.”Much better than Mickey Rooney at the Bristol Hippodrome!” said Alex before adding “Can I be your Cinderella next year please Timmy?!” x

And on Monday morning Timmy’s mobile rang as Radio 1’s Scott Mills called to play his prank - keep celebrities hanging on the phone! Scott was calling to tell Timmy he’ll be playing Biff Baff Boff on Radio 1’s breakfast show Tuesday morning. “I love it!” said Scott before leaving Timmy to wait another 10 minutes on the phone!

Weston at Dusk

Saturday, January 10th, 2009

Weston at dusk is stunning…the pier sits proudly waiting for the rebuld to start early 2009 and the sun sets over the Bristol Channel bathing the sea in golden light….

The only thing more spectacular is Timmy on stage at the Playhouse in Peter Pan!

Children Today

Saturday, January 10th, 2009

Children Today helps children with disabilities to achieve their potential and Timmy was delighted to present a special £1000 car seat to 4 year old Mark Palmer when came with his family to watch the panto at the Playhouse, Weston Super Mare.

4 year old Mark Palmer, together with his mum, dad and little sister OJ (Olivia-Jayne) made a special visit to the Playhouse to meet Timmy. They wanted to meet him to say a big thank you for supporting their favourite charity Children Today.

Mark, who recently received a grant of £1000 from Children Today for a special car seat wanted to thank Timmy for choosing the charity as his benefactor in his recent adventures on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! Mark has scoliosis, cerebral palsy and is partially sighted and the seat has helped him to ride safely in the car and to be able to see more of what’s going on around him.

Children Today provides grants for vital, life-changing equipment for disabled children and young people all over the UK, believing that the provision of specialist equipment for young people with disabilities has a direct and immediate impact on their quality of life and independence and is vital in helping them to overcome obstacles to live a life of greater freedom.

Timmy said “It was lovely to be able to meet Mark and his family, give them a lovely day out at panto and to present him with his special car seat. Children Today do so much to help kids and it’s a privilege to be able to help them like this”

Star Radio DJ’s gatecrash the panto!

Saturday, January 10th, 2009

Somerset’s Star Radio breakfast show DJs Darren Daley and Ang gatecrashed the panto this week- dressed as Snow White and fairy Darren!

“Er that’s next year’s panto” explained Timmy as the two came out on stage for the songsheet… “But now you’re here, how about doing Biff Baff Boff with the rest of the theatre?!”

Taking a couple of kids to help them as cheer leaders the two leaped into action Biffing and Baffing and Boffing their way through the songheet!

The audience loved it and the two joined Timmy to sign autographs with the crowds after the show….

Panto update…

Sunday, January 4th, 2009

Backstage at the Playhouse Weston Super Mare…

Timmy has over 15 costume changes in the show and some of his costume chages are VERY VERY quick! We caught a glimpse as he swapped his slosh outfit for the acrobatic routine and then met other cast members in between running on stage!

Ever wondered who is inside the crocodile? It’s Billy Mallett making his onstage pantomime debut!

After each show Timmy comes to the foyer and signs autogrpahs and souvenirs for everyone. Timmy is the only panto star who does this and the audiences love it….
